MERRY KISSMAS!

The holiday card for 2023 from Lou and Darla has been unveiled! Entitled Deck the Halls Over it pays homage to the classic album cover art of Rock and Roll Over from KISS. The card art was designed by the amazing Alan MacBain based on the original cover art by Michael Doret. It was chosen to pay tribute to The End of the Road Tour wrapping up over the holiday season.

The cards are limited to just five-hundred copies! However, to get one, you must give one! Send a card to Lou & Darla – PO Box 361 – Arnold MD 21012. You do NOT need to include self-addressed stamped envelope, just send a holiday card with your return address clearly visible.

UPDATE: There has been an overwhelming response to the card this year. The initial run of cards is now gone BUT there has been a second printing ordered of one-hundred. If you’ve sent a card already, we should have you covered. However, you may not see your return card until just before or just after Christmas itself. UPDATE: All cards are now completely gone. Thanks!

RUDOLPHER: THE 2022 HOLIDAY CARD

The 2022 holiday card from Lou and Darla has been unveiled! Entitled Rudolpher it’s a mashup of the Revolver album cover from The Beatles and the Rankin/Bass classic Christmas specials. Card art was again done by the legendary Alan MacBain based on the original cover art by Klaus Voormann. Each card has been hand/paw/hoof signed by Lou, Santa, Darla, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

FEAR AND LOATHING AT THE NORTH POLE

The 2018 holiday card from Lou and Darla has been revealed and it may be the best yet!

Based on Ralph Steadman’s “Bats Over Barstow” illustration from Hunter S. Thompson’s landmark novel “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” Lou’s is “Fear and Loathing at the North Pole.” It features he and Darla maniacally sledding through a frozen landscape.

The art was created by LB’s longtime partner in artistic crime Alan MacBain of the Alan MacBain Cartoon Company.

Inside the card the caption reads, “We were somewhere around the Arctic Circle on the edge of the tundra when the eggnog began to take hold. Suddenly there was a terrible HO-HO-HO all around us and the sky was full of what looked like red-nosed reindeer, all swooping and screeching and diving around the sled, which was going about a hundred miles an hour to the North Pole.”

The art can be enjoyed online. A select few physical cards went out to family and friends. Also, as the best way to get Christmas card from someone is to send them card, Lou mailed off cards to a number of listeners who had been kind enough to send to him.

SLED RUNNER: 2017

Once again, the incredible Alan MacBain, illustrator to the stars, has created an image for LB’s Christmas card.

The card for this year is entitled “Sled Runner: 2017” and it’s based on the poster artwork for the sci-fi masterpiece “Blade Runner: 2049.” Brutus replaced Ryan Gosling in the image with a silver-eyed, replicant version of Darla the Wonder Dog standing in for the film’s Jared Leto. The great Harrison Ford is pressed into service as St. Nick. Amongst the background images are an origami reindeer and origami devil horn’s in a nod to the origami from the film
