DARLA 2009-2025

It is with a grief-stricken heart I must inform you that Darla the Wonder Dog, my beloved friend and trusted confidante, has passed away. Against all odds, she celebrated her sixteenth birthday in March of this year, after a long life beset with many serious physical ailments. These included a cancer diagnosis four-years ago for which she endured surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy. Darla fought through it all without complaint and triumphed far beyond what we could hope for. However, the cancer recently reappeared and became too much, even for so valiant a warrior puppy as our brave Darla. She quietly slipped away at home held in the arms of we who loved her so dearly.

My family and I are despondent at the loss of the spirited soul whom I first brought home as a half-starved orphan, long ago. Our house no longer feels like a home, bereft as it now is of her over-sized personality. The rhythm of our lives, which had been happily built around Darla’s meals, walks, and rubs, is now gone. I don’t believe I will ever be happy again.

Darla was known by many nicknames including Pupolis, Darla Lovie, Puppy Beast, Pups, Nups, Schnups, Puppy of Love, Little Miss Pups, Bubba, and The Wonder Dog. She was sassy, opinionated, extremely intelligent, and hysterically funny. Most of all, Darla was filled with love, generating happiness everywhere. Her list of friends and admirers was worldwide, including rock stars and celebrities. She was truly one of the most extraordinary individuals I’ve known. Her loss is a void which can never be filled.

I will try to find more soon to share of my stubby-tailed soul mate. For now, I hope you will hold your loved ones of fur, feather or fin closely, as they love us unconditionally. Our animal friends are one of the great blessings in life, but their shorter lives are the terrible price we pay for their companionship. Never take a second with them for granted.

Farewell to my sweet, little girl. My precious pup, my adarlable and darling… Darla.

Lou Brutus, August 2025

GHOST: SKELETOUR

We would like to extend our gratitude on behalf of Lou Brutus and the staff at HardDrive Radio for the hospitality extended by the band and crew of Ghost’s Skeletour. Brutus was there for the opening night of the trek at the venerable CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore MD. The ritual could not have been held in a finer edifice as the musical performance history of the venue includes such luminaries as The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis Presley.

LB commented the concert production was “breathtaking” and gave the tour his “highest recommendation.” Following the ritual, he was whisked backstage where the clergy bestowed upon him sacred relics in the form of guitar picks and drumsticks. You can see these items, as well as his photography of the show, on the socials. Papa V Perpetua te benedicat!

DISTURBED AT STURGIS

We are stoked to announced that Lou Brutus will be making his first ever trip to the legendary Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis SD. If that wasn’t enough, he will be there to host DISTURBED at the Full Throttle Saloon!

This once-in-a-lifetime event will take place on Tuesday August 5th. Tickets are available now at FullThrottleSaloon.com. This will be one of just a few appearances by the band through the rest of 2025 and will be a concert you brag about attending for years to come. Lou will have a special one-of-a-kind guitar pick from InTune Guitars Picks available only at the event.

Along with getting stupid at the rally, Brutus plans on exploring the surrounding area with his cameras including Devil’s Tower, Mount Rushmore, and the Crazy Horse Memorial. See you there!

OZZY/SABBATH TRIBUTE WEEK

Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne are the Godfathers of Heavy Metal and a band which has always been close to our hearts. Lou Brutus has been gathering content for months to prepare for the bittersweet moment in music history, as our heroes perform their farewell and pass into the void. It begins Monday July 1st as HardDrive Radio XL rolls out a week of programs with rock stars singing the praises of Ozzy and Sabbath. Guests include A Day To Remember, ARCHITECTS, Five Finger Death Punch, Ghost, Halestorm, Billy Morrison, The Offspring, Shinedown, System Of A Down, and Three Days Grace. There will also be Ozzy and Sabbath covers from a multitude of Rock luminaries. The theme then continues with the weekend edition of the show. We hope you can join us as we go back to the beginning with the greatest metal band of all. God Bless Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath!

There will also be new custom guitar pick for LB done in Ozzy/Sabbath-style from InTune Guitar Picks. You’ll be able to get them direct from Lou at Rock Fest or the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Of course, you can also send a self-addressed-stamped-envelope to Brutus World Industries PO Box 361 Arnold MD 21012. Supplies are limited, so act fast!

POP EVIL “WHAT REMAINS”

The incredible new Pop Evil album “What Remains” drops on Friday, March 21st. Brutus was proud to host a special event celebrating the release of the record. He and the band’s singer Leigh Kakaty spent over an hour on TalkShopLive on March 14th to discuss the album in depth and give a first listen to several of the tracks. If you missed the show or want to catch it again, just hit the link here. Following the special, Leigh joined LB as Special Guest on HardDriveRadio XL. Check it all out!
